The National Blood Centre had released the “Guidelines for the Rational Use of Blood and Blood Products” in 2007. This publication has since gone through an extensive process of reviews and updates and is renamed as ‘Handbook on Clinical Use of Blood’. 

The 3rd edition of the Handbook of Clinical Use of Blood (2020) is now available.

This handbook is designed to provide recommendations, references and practical information on the judicious and safe use of blood and blood products for patient management based on current evidence and international best practices.
