The Malaysian Blood Transfusion Society delegates had a thorough visit to Thailand's National Blood Centre and Plasma Fractionation Centre. On May 8, 2024, they were warmly greeted by Assoc. Prof. Dootchai Chaiwanichsiri, M.D., the Director of the National Blood Centre, who introduced them to key staff members. Throughout the day, they watched videos about the NBC's activities, attended lectures on blood donation and production, and toured different departments. The day ended with a gift presentation to the delegates, symbolizing their shared experience.
On May 9, 2024, the delegates visited the Plasma Fractionation Centre in Chonburi province. They were welcomed by the PFC Management Team and given an overview of the center's operations. Presentations explained how Plasma-Derived Medicinal Products (PDMPs) are made and emphasized the importance of quality control. The delegates toured the facility and took a group photo before wrapping up their visit with a discussion about what they had learned. This visit was essential for the delegates to understand Thailand's blood transfusion processes and to foster collaboration between Malaysia and Thailand in this field.
